Founder & President

Chris Conover

Fee-only fiduciary adviser. Builder of Hudson Companies. Partner to families, executives, business owners, and professionals who want clarity under complexity.

Chris has more than 30 years of investment management experience, including more than a decade on Wall Street with Guardian Life Insurance and Van Eck Global before founding Hudson in 2008. What stuck with him was not product. It was the gap: institutional investors received depth, research, and proactive counsel; individual families often received a sales process dressed up as advice.

He formed Hudson to close that gap — so families could access serious planning and portfolio discipline without surrendering the relationship to a call center or a product shelf.

Education & formation

Background that shows up in the advice.

Markets are hard. People are harder. Chris’s academic work in behavioral economics informs how Hudson designs plans clients can actually follow — reducing avoidable mistakes driven by fear, recency, or overconfidence without talking down to anyone. The goal is not cleverness. It is better decisions under uncertainty, sustained over years.

What Financial GM means

Family CFO Intelligence — elevated.

We help you navigate complexity with clarity and confidence. Hudson is a fee-only, fiduciary wealth management firm for families, business owners, executives, and professionals who want institutional-grade judgment with a personal relationship. We plan, invest, and coordinate so wealth serves your life — today and for the people who come after you.

Architecture

One integrated view

Investments, tax awareness, risk, and legacy in the same conversation — not a stack of unconnected accounts.

Oversight

Professionals, coordinated

Clear priorities and coordination with your CPA, attorney, and other advisors when it helps the household.

Horizon

This generation and the next

Decisions framed for durability — with regular reviews so the plan stays honest as life changes.

Who we serve

Complex lives. Different stories. Same standard.

HNW & UHNW families

Multi-account, multi-goal households that need an integrated view — investments, tax awareness, estate coordination, philanthropy, and next-generation readiness.

Business owners & executives

Liquidity events, equity concentration, succession, and the shift from operating income to durable personal capital.

Professionals & complex households

People whose financial lives are complex enough that a true partner makes a material difference — less noise, more clarity on what the money is for.

Capabilities

What Hudson puts on the table.

Wealth & investment management

Goals-based portfolios, risk management, rebalancing, and a long-term investment policy you can live with.

Financial planning

Retirement, cash flow, education, major purchases, and the decisions that do not fit neatly on a portfolio statement.

Tax-aware strategy

Placement, gain awareness, and coordination so investment choices respect the tax bill — not replace your CPA.

Estate & legacy

Transfer, gifting, and multi-generational design in partnership with your counsel.

Business & liquidity events

Exit planning, succession, and converting enterprise value into durable personal wealth.

Family CFO posture

One operating system for the household — decision rights, professional stack, and capital discipline.

Philosophy

How Chris advises.

Fee-only. Fiduciary. Always. Goals and cash flow before product conversation. Long-term portfolio discipline — no performance theater. Tax, estate, and family dynamics in the same room as investments. Plain language. Written plans. Honest tradeoffs.

You keep control. We bring structure, research, and a second set of eyes that works only for you.

I

Listen

Goals, family dynamics, constraints, and what “enough” looks like for you — before any big first decisions.

II

Design

A written plan and portfolio architecture matched to your priorities — not a model sold to everyone.

III

Guide

Implementation, reviews, and ongoing counsel as markets and life change. The GM stays on after the first conversation.

What we will and will not do

What we will do

Act as a fiduciary, always. Explain the plan in plain language. Bring institutional research and disciplined portfolio construction. Stay available when life moves faster than the annual review.

What we will not do

We will not hide fees inside product commissions. We will not pretend every alternative investment is right for you. We will not trade your long-term plan for short-term noise.

Where we work

Pearl River. Greater New York. Wherever you need us.

Our office is at 1 Blue Hill Plaza in Pearl River, New York. We serve clients across Rockland, Westchester, Bergen, and the broader New York metro. Most relationships start with a private conversation. No pitch theater. No obligation. We work best with households that value a long-term relationship — complexity and partnership fit matter more than a marketing minimum.
